I have noticed that when creating a new tax year return the system does not carry forward few pieces of information such as DOB, agent details (ie if we want to show a different contact name and address), employment, interest list, etc .
I am afraid that not carrying forward basic information can lead to mistakes and only increases time in preparing the work.
The roll forward feature allows for this information to roll into a new tax year.
To trigger the feature a return must be set to Finished (at the top of any screen, currently saying 'In Progress')
After this has been changed, when creating a new period, the option to 'Roll forward from previous tax year will appear'.
